WHEREAS, on Tuesday, August Sixteenth, Two Thousand and Eleven, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize Samantha Wang; and
WHEREAS, Copper's Dream Animal Rescue was co-founded by Cupertino residents and sisters Samantha Wang and Jennifer Wang in Two Thousand and Eight with a mission to end the euthanasia
of adoptable dogs in California; and
WHEREAS, the sisters are Monta Vista High alumni from Two Thousand and Eleven and Nineteen Ninety-Five, respectively; and
WHEREAS, Copper's Dream has saved dogs from dozens of shelters throughout California; and
WHEREAS, to date, Copper's Dream has found homes for roughly four hundred dogs; and
WHEREAS, the nonprofit group aims to end the euthanasia of adoptable dogs and cats in the United States through increasing public awareness, taking legal action that will benefit shelter
animals and rescuing animals scheduled for euthanasia and placing them in permanent homes.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby commend and recognize
Samantha Wang
and congratulate her for her outstanding work and wish her the very best in all her future endeavors.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, August Sixteenth, Two Thousand and Eleven.
