If they are working 8 hours, they get two short paid breaks, plus an unpaid lunch break since they are working 8 hours. City Employees as Volunteers If a city employee wants to be a volunteer, they will have to sign the forms we use for volunteers, and then we must contact Pam to inactivate the employee. Once they have completed the volunteer hours, e-mail Pam once again and she will activate them on the payroll system. The City’s Purchasing Policy This policy applies to purchasing supplies not services: Purchase Orders: Regular PO: $25,000 limit; Coordinator can approve up to $5000; Supervisor can approve up to $25,000; Final approval and number assigned by Finance Limited PO: $500 limit; forms are pre-numbered; any Coordinator or Supervisor can approve Local PO
