HomeMy WebLinkAbout047 NCHA 30TH Proclamation - Word - 02.04.2011PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, on Sunday, February Sixth, Two Thousand and Eleven, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize the Northern California Hakka Association’s (NCHA) 30th Anniversary and 2011 Chinese New Year Celebration Gala Party; and WHEREAS, NCHA was founded in Nineteen Eighty-One and is one of the largest and most active Chinese organization in Northern California; and WHEREAS, Hakka people are a huge group of authentic Chinese people who preserve ancient and traditional Chinese culture and language; and WHEREAS, they originated from central China in Xian and South West of Beijing area; and WHEREAS, more than a thousand years ago, they fled to the South to avoid civil wars and settled down in southern China and gradually spread all over the world. NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby recognize the NCHA 30th Anniversary & 2011 Chinese New Year Celebration Gala Party and congratulate NCHA on their 30th anniversary celebration and for all their hard work in hosting such a wonderful event.
