WHEREAS, on Tuesday, April Fifth, Two Thousand and Eleven, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize Michael Gottwald; and
WHEREAS, Michael supports and roots for children who play sports, especially the children who play in the Cupertino National Little League; and
WHEREAS, he has thrown out the ceremonial first pitch for many years for the Cupertino National Little League and was put in their baseball book sandlot stories in Two Thousand and Three
with a story called "Everyone Plays"; and
WHEREAS, Michael graduated from Monta Vista High School in Nineteen Eighty-Seven and is now a baseball scorekeeper for the school; and
WHEREAS, since Two Thousand and Seven, he has done a variety of charity walks and has raised over forty seven thousand dollars for these charities; and
WHEREAS, for the last four years, the American Heart Association has presented Michael with a plaque for being the top individual fundraiser for the American Heart Association Heart
Walk and is also receiving a plaque for this year.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby commend and recognize
Michael Gottwald
for his hard work, dedication, and creating a stronger and better community for the City of Cupertino.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, April Fifth, Two Thousand and Eleven.
