WHEREAS, on Saturday, October Fifteenth, Two Thousand and Eleven, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize Indians for Collective Action (ICA); and
WHEREAS, ICA is a San Francisco Bay Area non-profit group that has nurtured the activists and organizations in India to strengthen democracy and eradicate corruption and poverty at its
roots through equal access to education, health, clean environment and economic opportunities; and
WHEREAS, ICA has supported over four hundred innovative and community-led development projects in all parts of India and provided over $5 million seed funding; and
WHEREAS, the ICA Annual Banquet promotes the critical importance of anti-corruption and the anti-poverty movement in India.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby commend and recognize
Indians for Collective Action (ICA)
and thank them for their hard work, dedication, and all their efforts to help India.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Saturday, October Fifteenth, Two Thousand and Eleven.
