WHEREAS, on Sunday, August Twenty-Eighth, Two Thousand and Eleven, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize Jonathan Martin Wong, a Scout from Boy Scout Troop 30, for achieving Eagle,
the highest rank in Boy Scouts; and
WHEREAS, Jonathan's Eagle project involved designing and building three raised planter boxes for the physically disabled children and constructing garage shelving doors at the Green
Pastures home in Mountain View; and
WHEREAS, before Jonathan's project, the old planter boxes were low and inaccessible for the children and the garage shelves were exposed and unsafe; and
WHEREAS, this project required one hundred ninety-four hours and seven workdays and Jonathan recruited volunteers from his troop, family, and friends; and
WHEREAS, with the newly built planter boxes, the children can now enjoy the outdoors, have fun growing vegetables, and have the joy of seeing what they have grown and now the garage
shelving doors provide enclosed storage and ensure a safe environment and a clean look.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby commend and recognize
Jonathan Martin Wong
and congratulate him for his outstanding work and wish him the very best in all his future endeavors.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Sunday, August Twenty-Eighth, Two Thousand and Eleven.
