WHEREAS, on Friday, March Twenty-Seventh, Two Thousand and Nine, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize Indo-American Community Federation’s (IACF-USA) 8th annual dinner, Unity in
Diversity; and
WHEREAS, IACF is a nonprofit public benefit corporation founded by Jeevan Zutshi of Fremont, California in Nineteen Ninety-Four; and
WHEREAS, their purpose is to bring different backgrounds together to showcase Indian culture, promote understanding and positive relations between India and the United States through
seminars and conventions, and provide financial assistance to needy and deserving individuals; and
WHEREAS, IACF has a scholarship program for needy children; and
WHEREAS, IACF, along with a myriad of local and national organizations, will be celebrating diversity and unity at their event; and
WHEREAS, the theme this year is “A New Day for America's Children”; and
WHEREAS, the awards ceremony will recognize people who have put effort into improving the lives of others at both national and local levels.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby recognize IACF’s 8th annual dinner,
Unity in Diversity
and commend IACF for their outstanding work, dedication, and creating a better community for the City of Cupertino.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Friday, March Twenty-Seventh, Two Thousand and Nine.
