WHEREAS, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize County Librarian, Nancy Howe for the great work that she has done in heading the Santa Clara County Library District; and
WHEREAS, The Santa Clara Library District serves the areas of Campbell, Cupertino, Gilroy, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Milpitas, Monte Sereno, Morgan Hill, Saratoga and all unincorporated
areas of Santa Clara County; and
WHEREAS, Nancy Howe’s leadership helped in the passing of Measure A, a special tax for the library that will allow continued funding of our Library services, that passed by 81% which
counts toward 18% of our budget; and
WHEREAS, with Nancy’s cost conscientious help the Santa Clara Library District was able to open the new Library Service and Support Center on November 12, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Nancy’s dedication and professionalism is reflected in the wonderful knowledgeable staff that work at all Santa Clara County Library locations; and
WHEREAS, Cupertino Library wouldn’t have the highest book circulation in the County, or be one of the busiest, well used libraries, without the continued support from Nancy Howe.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby commend and recognize
Nancy Howe
for all her outstanding work and dedication to the Santa Clara County Library District and for creating a stronger and better community for the City of Cupertino.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, December Seventeenth, Two Thousand and Thirteen.
