WHEREAS, the city of Cupertino offers best wishes to Gladys. McCune on the occasion of her Nintey-Second birthday; and
WHEREAS, Gladys and her husband Joseph have lived in Cupertino since 1947 and have lived in the same house for the last sixty-two years; and
WHEREAS, they built their home over four years in an area that was a vineyard and bought their lot for $500; and
WHEREAS, Glady’s and her husband still have their orchards with vegetable and fruit gardens in the backyard; and
WHEREAS, Glady’s and Joe have raised three children and now enjoy six grand children and three great grandchildren.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved,that the Mayor and the Cupertino City Council do hereby recognize
Gladys McCune
to honor her and her family, and the important role she has played in so many lives as neighbor, friend, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Eighteenth day of October, Two Thousand and Thirteen.
