Bicycle Pedestrian Commission Minutes October 15, 2025
Commissioners made the following recommendations:
•The Town Center and Torre Avenue intersection should be prioritized for safety
improvements, including adding speed bumps or a raised crosswalk, improving
visibility by removing obstructing parked cars, enhancing nighttime lighting, and
clarifying pedestrian areas.
•Pedestrian walkways to the library should be made safer, excessive signage avoided,
and the intersection redesigned to manage U-turns and library drop-off issues. These
measures are important due to high pedestrian activity and ongoing accident risks,
including for children on rollerblades and skateboards.
•Consider safety improvements at other nearby intersections.
•Look at these problems holistically from Pacifica Dr. to Rodriguez Ave.
