WHEREAS, the Guzman family was recognized as the 2014 La Familia – Community Engagement Award Winners by the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley at the 25th Silver Annual Hispanic
Foundation Ball held on November First, Two Thousand and Fourteen; and
WHEREAS, the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley recognizes Latino families that are an inspiration to others when they perform extraordinary community activities through volunteerism;
and
WHEREAS, the Guzman family has a long history of providing positive contributions in the Redwood City North Fair Oaks neighborhood for over 30 years; and
WHEREAS, Gilberto and Cunda Guzman are outstanding role models for their children, Lupe, Gilberto Jr., Maribel and Jaqui, who have carried on the family tradition of volunteering.
NOW, therefore be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino do hereby commend and recognize
The Guzman Family
for being excellent role models and exemplifying a strong sense of service through years of volunteering and helping make the community a better place.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, December Second,
