WHEREAS, the City of Cupertino wishes to honor Gary McCue for his years of service as a Cupertino Union School District (CUSD) Board Member; and
WHEREAS, the Cupertino Union School District Board of Education is in charge of ensuring a quality education for Cupertino Kindergarten through eighth grade students; and
WHEREAS, as a member of the district’s governance team, Gary McCue helped maintain a district focus on student learning through the selection of two superintendents to lead the district
through the implementation of the Common Core State Standards; and
WHEREAS, Gary McCue was instrumental in helping to pass two parcel taxes which aided in keeping the district afloat and helped cement the financial recovery; and
WHEREAS, first elected to the Board in 2001, Gary McCue served two terms as Board President during the years: 2005 and 2011
NOW, therefore be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino do hereby commend and recognize
Gary McCue
and thank him for his service and accomplishments as a Cupertino Union School District Board member which provides academic excellence and support for all district students.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, November Eighteenth, Two-Thousand and Fourteen.
