WHEREAS, October Eighteenth, Two Thousand and Fourteen will be the 10th Anniversary Celebration for the Cupertino Library; and
WHEREAS, the Santa Clara County Library District supports education, promotes cultural enrichment, and fosters literacy and the love of reading; and
WHEREAS, the Santa Clara County Library District offers individuals and families free access to online homework resources, databases, and eBooks and information services; and
WHEREAS, the Santa Clara County Library District has strong partnerships with Friends of the Library, the Library Commission, Foundations, local community and nonprofit organizations;
and
WHEREAS, the Santa Clara County Library District has a 100 year tradition of excellence serving local communities, and helping residents meet their educational, informational, and recreational
needs; and
WHEREAS, the Cupertino Library is an essential community asset that benefits residents and transforms lives by enabling life-long learning and community engagement.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby recognize
The Cupertino Library
and encourage all residents to sign up for a Santa Clara County Library District card and to participate in the celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the Cupertino Library and the 100th
Anniversary of Santa Clara County Library District.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, August Nineteenth, Two Thousand and Fourteen.
