WHEREAS, outstanding Monta Vista High School Teacher, Bonnie Belshe, has been selected from numerous candidates statewide as the History Teacher of the Year for the State of California;
and
WHEREAS, Bonnie Belshe began teaching at Monta Vista High School in Cupertino in 2004; and
WHEREAS, Bonnie Belshe exemplifies excellence in leadership by being an active member of the Leadership Planning Team, the Faculty Advisory Committee and acting as a master teacher
for student teachers at Monta Vista High School; and
WHEREAS, her dedication to students at Monta Vista High School and the Fremont Union High School District led her to be President and co-President of the Fremont Education Association;
and
WHEREAS, the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History selected Bonnie Belshe for this honor because she utilizes creativity and imagination to engage students when teaching American
History.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby recognize
Bonnie Belshe
and thank her for her efforts, contributions and dedicated commitment to the role she has played in helping our youth gain a strong foundation of history which will aid in their future
success.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Monday, November Third, Two Thousand and Fourteen.
