WHEREAS, the City of Cupertino congratulates the Cupertino Library on 10 successful years serving the Cupertino community as a “Gateway to Learning” in its current facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Cupertino acknowledges the commitment of the Cupertino Library Foundation in supporting life-long learning and self-improvement for our residents; and
WHEREAS, the City of Cupertino wishes to encourage support for our local library during the holiday season; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper on #GivingTuesday and on every day to recognize the tremendous impact of philanthropy, volunteerism, and community service in the City of Cupertino;
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby proclaim November 2014 as
#LoveYourLibrary month
and December 2, 2014 as
#GivingTuesday
in the City of Cupertino, and encourage all citizens to join together to give back to the Cupertino Library and our community in any way that is personally meaningful.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, October 7th, Two Thousand and Fourteen.
