HomeMy WebLinkAbout047 Walter Huber Saved Life with PulsePointPROCLAMATION WHEREAS, the City of Cupertino is proud to recognize Walter Huber, a Sunnyvale resident who utilized the innovative PulsePoint App technology to save a fellow citizen’s life; and WHEREAS, PulsePoint is a community notification system enabling citizens to respond to medical emergencies in the early crucial moments of need via their smartphones; and WHEREAS, Walter received a notification on his smartphone indicating that there was a person nearby who needed medical attention; and WHEREAS, Walter went across the street and found a person laying lifeless on a soccer field with no pulse; and WHEREAS, Walter immediately administered CPR until the Sunnyvale Police Department arrived with an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) machine to administer a life-saving shock to the victim which brought him back to life; and WHEREAS, the City of Cupertino wants to recognize Walter’s heroic actions as a trainee Paramedic to administer CPR to help save a person’s life. NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby recognize Walter Huber for his quick response to initiate CPR to a fellow citizen who needed immediate medical attention. IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, June Sixteenth, Two Thousand and Fifteen. Rod Sinks, Mayor
