WHEREAS, Suzi Blackman was elected as President of the Cupertino Rotary for the
2015-2016 year and was President of the Sunnyvale Rotary in 1998-1999; and
WHEREAS, she has developed a reputation as a sparkplug and innovative leader in
both clubs, and has served as a resource to Rotary District 5170; and
WHEREAS, Suzi served with distinction as the Chief Executive Officer of the
Cupertino Chamber of Commerce and President of the Sunnyvale Chamber of
Commerce; and
WHEREAS, she was one of the most successful Chamber Directors during her tenures
in Cupertino and Sunnyvale; and
WHEREAS, she has brought energy, humor and creativity to all meetings and special
events, including spearheading the Sunnyvale Art and Wine Festival during its most
successful years; and
WHEREAS, she can create and sew any costume without a pattern; and
WHEREAS, her short stance can fill a room; and
WHEREAS, she and Kenny can tear up the dance floor.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do
hereby commend and recognize
Suzi Blackman
for her outstanding work, dedication, and leadership in creating a stronger and better
community in Silicon Valley.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City
of Cupertino to be affixed this Friday, July Tenth, Two Thousand and Fifteen.
