HomeMy WebLinkAbout047 Mary Wyleczuk Proclamation - Word - 08.17.2015PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, on May Fifth, Two Thousand and Fifteen, Mary Wyleczuk noticed two subjects loitering around the garbage containers in her condominium complex; and WHEREAS, after she reported this suspicious behavior to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office, she then observed the suspects enter the garage of another neighbor’s home; and WHEREAS, deputies arrived within minutes of the call, located the garage door in question and encountered a man matching Mary’s description quickly slamming the garage door closed; and WHEREAS, after speaking to the residents of the home, deputies learned that one of the residents had given the suspects permission to stay in the garage; however, the suspects were arrested for delaying a peace officer and refusing to open the garage door to identify themselves. NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby recognize Mary Wyleczuk and congratulate her on being observant and promptly reporting suspicious activity in her neighborhood to keep the community safe and prevent additional crimes. IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, May Fifth, Two Thousand and Fifteen. Rod Sinks, Mayor
