WHEREAS, music is a universal language and brings people together regardless of their
age, status, race or gender; and
WHEREAS, the “Share the Love of Music” event held in Cupertino has collected
donations of used instruments to benefit the area’s schools and children in Cupertino; and
WHEREAS, monetary donations have been received from various individuals and
organizations in the area in support of the arts and music programs in East Palo Alto; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Rotary Club of Cupertino, the Rotary Club of East Palo
Alto, IvyMax Foundation and Silicon Valley Impressions organized this event to benefit
the East Palo Alto Schools; and
WHEREAS, this coordinated collection of over 40 decommissioned musical instruments
and donations have helped underprivileged children in our local school districts.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby
recognize the
“Share the Love of Music” Instrument
Donation Event
and congratulate all volunteers and supporters for their dedication, hard work and
commitment in contributing to the community. I support their effort and encourage all
citizens to take an active role in involvement with community giving that supports all of
our children.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of
Cupertino to be affixed this Sunday, December Twentieth, Two Thousand and Fifteen.
