PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Ken Kehmna, the Fire Chief of the Santa Clara County Fire
Department, is a proponent of utilizing innovative technology to
improve the community’s collective life-saving ability; and
WHEREAS, Chief Kehmna became aware of PulsePoint, a community notification
system enabling citizens to respond to medical emergencies in the
early crucial moments of need via their smartphones; and
WHEREAS, thanks to the leadership of Chief Kehmna and his team, Santa Clara
County was the first in the nation to roll out PulsePoint countywide,
having reached agreement with nine other fire agencies in the county
in a matter of months; and
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do
hereby recognize
Chief Ken Kehmna and his team
for their leadership in coordinating ten county fire agencies to adopt PulsePoint,
allowing ordinary citizens to become heroes by responding to fellow citizens in
cardiac arrest.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the
City of Cupertino to be affixed this Wednesday, January Twenty-Eighth,
Two Thousand and Fifteen.
