WHEREAS, on Wednesday, June Third, Two Thousand and Fifteen, the City of
Cupertino wishes to recognize Don Allen; and
WHEREAS, Don has been an active, valued member of the Rotary Club of Cupertino
since 1985, serving as President in 2000-2001 and District Governor for Rotary District
5170 in 2003-2004; and
WHEREAS, he successfully led The Rotary Foundation campaign for Cupertino
Rotary for many years for a total contribution of over $1 million; and
WHEREAS, Don supported the Cupertino Rotary Endowment Foundation, including
facilitating a $100,000 contribution from a community member; and
WHEREAS, Don led the strategic initiative to have Cupertino Rotary membership
reflect the community; and
WHEREAS, he was a Founder of the Cupertino Educational Endowment Foundation
(CEEF) in 1985; and
WHEREAS, Don was the President and CEO of the Cupertino National Bank; and
WHEREAS, Don also led the capital campaign for the West Valley Community
Services housing project.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do
hereby commend and recognize
Don Allen
for his untiring efforts in making the Cupertino Rotary and Cupertino community a
better environment for all to live, work and enjoy.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City
of Cupertino to be affixed this Wednesday, June Third, Two Thousand and Fifteen.
