WHEREAS, the City of Cupertino wishes to acknowledge the dedicated service
of Richard (Dick) Sherman; and
WHEREAS, since 2011, Dick has been a devoted volunteer for West Valley
Community Services, each year expanding his responsibilities and
performing them with enthusiasm and reliability; and
WHEREAS, his commitment to the agency is demonstrated every week when he
drives to local markets in order to collect and load groceries, which
he then delivers to the WVCS food pantry; and
WHEREAS, Dick is known for his generosity of spirit, always willing to assist
other volunteers, delivering food to De Anza College’s Campus
Cupboard Program, accepting extra work shifts whenever needed,
and bringing food to those who are unable to pick up groceries on
their own; and
WHEREAS, with care and kindness, he fills a critical role in helping WVCS
carry out its mission of providing basic human services for those in
need.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby
commend and recognize
Richard Sherman
for his dedicated work and commitment toward building a stronger and better
community within the City of Cupertino.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of
Cupertino to be affixed this Twenty-Eighth day of May, Two Thousand and Fifteen.
