WHEREAS, the City of Cupertino wishes to acknowledge the dedicated service
of Gerd Goette; and
WHEREAS, since he completed the Cupertino Emergency Response Team
(CERT) training program in 2008, he has been an active and
inspiring leader in the Cupertino Citizen Corps; and
WHEREAS, his commitment to the safety and emergency preparedness of
Cupertino is demonstrated by hundreds of volunteer hours he has
logged, including more than 200 hours of specialized training for an
Emergency Management Certificate from the state of California;
and
WHEREAS, Gerd was instrumental in bringing the talents and expertise of the
Citizen Corps into the City of Cupertino’s Emergency Operations
Center, ensuring a vital communications link to field volunteers;
and
WHEREAS, with personal and professional skill, Gerd helps guide the efforts of
CERT, CARES and Citizen Corps toward a safer, well prepared
future.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby
commend and recognize
Gerd Goette
for his dedicated work and commitment toward building a stronger and better
community within the City of Cupertino.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of
Cupertino to be affixed this Twenty-Eighth day of May, Two Thousand and Fifteen.
