WHEREAS, the City of Cupertino wishes to acknowledge the outstanding
regional service of Family Giving Tree; and
WHEREAS, now celebrating its 25th year of growth and success, this charitable
program has made a deep and lasting imprint on the City of
Cupertino and throughout many other communities in the Bay
Area; and
WHEREAS, in 2014, Family Giving Tree distributed 70 backpacks filled with
school supplies to disadvantaged Cupertino students and fulfilled
45 holiday wishes with a variety of gifts – from warm blankets to
jackets and personal items – for seniors at Live Oak Adult Day
Service; and
WHEREAS, dedicated, caring staff and volunteers work with local schools,
agencies and facilities, such as De Anza College’s Occupational
Training Institute, to reach out and provide for those in need; and
WHEREAS, the successful local partnerships forged by Family Giving Tree
serve as inspiring examples of how cooperative efforts can enhance
peoples’ lives.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby
commend and recognize
Family Giving Tree
for its hard work and commitment toward building a stronger and better community
within the City of Cupertino.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of
Cupertino to be affixed this Twenty-Eighth day of May, Two Thousand and Fifteen.
