WHEREAS, another glorious year of Cupertino Rotary comes to a close; and
WHEREAS, President Wendell Stephens can now be on his way into the most esteemed
Past President’s club; and
WHEREAS, President Wendell Stephens pioneered the following new projects:
the Poetry Contest, an Outreach Program at the Forum, a Musical
Instrument Project supporting students in East Palo Alto, Holiday Family
Giving Tree; and
WHEREAS, under President Wendell Stephens’ leadership, the 23rd Annual Golf
Classic sponsored $25,000 for Our Daily Bread; and
WHEREAS, under President Wendell Stephens’ leadership, Cupertino Rotary
accomplished world community service projects in Africa, Cuba,
Guatemala, India, Mexico, Taiwan as well as sponsoring a Rotary Scholar in
Thailand; and
WHEREAS, more fellowship activities have been enjoyed by club members, family and
friends such as a book club, a cycling group, a golf fellowship, summer
bocce ball, movie nights, an outing group; and
WHEREAS, President Wendell Stephens successfully sought out new frontiers of service
by cherishing his club members, loving and uplifting our community and
bringing health, harmony and enlightenment to the world!
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby
recognize Wendell Stephens
2015-2016 President of Cupertino Rotary, to be a fine Rotary Leader and Role Model.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of
Cupertino to be affixed this Wednesday, June Twenty-Ninth,
Two Thousand and Sixteen.
