WHEREAS, on Saturday, February Twenty-Seventh, Two Thousand and Sixteen,
the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize Taiwanese American Federation of
Northern California’s (TAFNC) 43rd Annual Lunar New Year Celebration; and
WHEREAS, TAFNC is a non-profit Taiwanese American organization which
consists of eight Northern California chapters with over two thousand members;
and
WHEREAS, this conference is the largest annual gathering of the Taiwanese
American community in Northern California; and
WHEREAS, the event attracts approximately six hundred Taiwanese Americans in
the Bay Area every year; and
WHEREAS, there will be a keynote speech, Taiwanese folk songs, dances,
traditional cultural entertainment and a celebration of the triumph of democracy
in Taiwan; and
WHEREAS, the organization is the source of support for many people in our
community.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do
hereby recognize the
43rd Annual Lunar New Year Celebration
and thank TAFNC for doing an outstanding job in promoting friendship and
cultural exchange between Taiwanese Americans and mainstream Americans.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the
City of Cupertino to be affixed this Saturday, February Twenty-Seventh, Two
Thousand and Sixteen.
