WHEREAS, founded in 2011, the Silicon Valley Youth Orchestra is a nonprofit
organization supported by Hope of Music for Children Foundation and Chinese
Performing Arts of America; and
WHEREAS, the mission of the Silicon Valley Youth Orchestra is to provide
professional music training for youth to showcase their talents and to provide
enrichment for the community; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Silicon Valley Youth Orchestra conduct outreach
internationally, including Nepal, and Tanzania in Africa, and Tijuana in Mexico,
giving love and caring to children and people from all walks of life; and
WHEREAS, on May Sixth, Two Thousand and Sixteen, the Silicon Valley Youth
Orchestra will present a charity concert “We Are Together” for children around us
that have special needs, and provide an opportunity to educate our community.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino do
hereby commend the
SILICON VALLEY YOUTH ORCHESTRA
for promoting a love of music throughout our community.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the
City of Cupertino to be affixed Friday, May Sixth, Two Thousand and Sixteen.
