WHEREAS, public works infrastructure, facilities and services are of vital
importance to sustainable communities and to the health, safety and
well-being of the residents and businesses of the City of Cupertino;
and
WHEREAS, the community recognizes the dedication and skill of all public
works employees who play an essential role in preserving the health,
safety and comfort of our residents, businesses and visitors; and
WHEREAS, the knowledge and understanding of the community greatly
influences the results that can be attained by the qualified and
dedicated employees of the City of Cupertino Department of Public
Works.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do
hereby proclaim the week of May Fifteenth through Twenty-first, Two Thousand
and Sixteen as the 56th Annual
National Public Works Week
in the City of Cupertino, and all citizens and civic organizations are encouraged
to become familiar with public works services, and to recognize the contributions
that City of Cupertino Public Works employees make every day to the health,
safety, comfort and quality of life in the City of Cupertino.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the
City of Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, May Seventeenth, Two Thousand
and Sixteen.
