WHEREAS, on November Tenth, Two Thousand and Sixteen, the Fremont Union
High School District (FUHSD) recognizes Nancy Newton’s retirement after a
distinguished career as an advocate for continuing education; and
WHEREAS, Nancy was appointed to the Fremont Union High School District
Board (FUHSD) in 1987 and was re-elected seven times beginning in 1988; and
WHEREAS, Nancy served as Board President five times and never missed a
meeting; and
WHEREAS, Nancy was elected to the Santa Clara County California School Board
Association Delegate Assembly in 1988 and served until 2015; and
WHEREAS, Nancy served faithfully on various committees throughout the district
and believes that all students should be given the opportunity to reach their full
potential.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do
hereby recognize
Nancy Newton
and applaud her caring inspiration, contribution and dedicated commitment to
enable students to gain a strong lifelong education.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the
City of Cupertino to be affixed this Thursday, November Tenth, Two Thousand and
Sixteen.
