HomeMy WebLinkAbout047 KidsN Fun Festival Info Proclamation - PDF - 08.04.2016I cIS"{'l FLYN FeStlV"aL On Saturday, August 13th, you and your family are invited to the Taiwanese Culture & Sports Association's celebration of this year's "Kids'N Fun Festival" (www.kidsfunfestival.org) at Cupertino Memorial Park. Come enjoy the many traditional Taiwanese and international cultural programs, field activities, and popular "Taste of Taiwan" food booths. This year's theme is " One Earth, One Home" with many special programs including a recycled plastic bottle design competition, a secondhand clothing & item exchange for children, presentations about preserving the environment, fun photo booths, and more. This year, we are pleased to have five groups with more than 60 performers from Taiwan performing Taiwanese music, folk operas, and dances. They are the Formosa Melody Music Group from Yilan City, Chung -Ho Elementary School from Taichung City, Lang Yang Taiwanese Opera Company from Yilan County, Hsin-Lei Art School from Hsinchu County, and the Lan -Yang Dancers from Yilan County. In addition to these special guest performers from Taiwan, we will also have performances from the LA Three Electronic Princes from Los Angeles, the Nijikko Dance School from Cupertino, the Nakano Judo Academy from San Jose, The Bandura Ensemble of North CA, and the Peruvian Dance Troupe of Kanchis Peru Miguel Sanchez from Union City. For the first time, City of Cupertino will join the Festival by providing games and story time for kids. We are expanding this year's International Village program to showcase many different cultures and promote diversity and tourism. There are seven countries participating this year including South Africa, Ukraine, Mexico, Jamaica, Vietnam, India, and Taiwan. The International Village will be filled with cultural tents decorated in the unique styles of different countries, craft activities, free giveaways, costumes showcases, and more. It promises to be a fun experience that will give kids and families the opportunity to learn more about different cultures. Everyone is invited! We welcome all new and returning visitors for a day of fun and festivities. Come share a cultural exchange with us over delicious food and entertainment — we can't wait to see you! The mission of Taiwanese Culture & Sports Association (www.tcsa2015.org) is a non-profit organization that promotes Taiwan through the cultural exchange of international communities within the Bay Area. TCSA hosts an annual "Kids'N Fun Festival" (www.kidsfunfestival.org) in mid -August at Cupertino Memorial Park. The festival has attracted over 20,000 attendees each year.
