On Saturday, August 13th, you and your family are invited to the Taiwanese Culture & Sports
Association's celebration of this year's "Kids'N Fun Festival" (www.kidsfunfestival.org) at Cupertino
Memorial Park.
Come enjoy the many traditional Taiwanese and international cultural programs, field activities, and
popular "Taste of Taiwan" food booths. This year's theme is " One Earth, One Home" with many
special programs including a recycled plastic bottle design competition, a secondhand clothing &
item exchange for children, presentations about preserving the environment, fun photo booths, and
more.
This year, we are pleased to have five groups with more than 60 performers from Taiwan performing
Taiwanese music, folk operas, and dances. They are the Formosa Melody Music Group from Yilan
City, Chung -Ho Elementary School from Taichung City, Lang Yang Taiwanese Opera Company
from Yilan County, Hsin-Lei Art School from Hsinchu County, and the Lan -Yang Dancers from Yilan
County. In addition to these special guest performers from Taiwan, we will also have performances
from the LA Three Electronic Princes from Los Angeles, the Nijikko Dance School from Cupertino,
the Nakano Judo Academy from San Jose, The Bandura Ensemble of North CA, and the Peruvian
Dance Troupe of Kanchis Peru Miguel Sanchez from Union City. For the first time, City of Cupertino
will join the Festival by providing games and story time for kids.
We are expanding this year's International Village program to showcase many different cultures and
promote diversity and tourism. There are seven countries participating this year including South
Africa, Ukraine, Mexico, Jamaica, Vietnam, India, and Taiwan. The International Village will be filled
with cultural tents decorated in the unique styles of different countries, craft activities, free
giveaways, costumes showcases, and more. It promises to be a fun experience that will give kids
and families the opportunity to learn more about different cultures.
Everyone is invited! We welcome all new and returning visitors for a day of fun and festivities.
Come share a cultural exchange with us over delicious food and entertainment — we can't wait to see
you!
