HomeMy WebLinkAbout047 Christina Wu Doodle4Google Art Contest WinnerPROCLAMATION WHEREAS, on March Fifteenth, Two Thousand and Sixteen, the City of Cupertino recognizes Christina Wu as the California finalist in the Doodle4Google art contest; and WHEREAS, Doodle4Google is an annual contest held by Google allowing K-12 students to submit their artistic interpretation of the word “Google” within a particular theme to be featured on the website home page; and WHEREAS, nearly 100,000 artwork submissions were received in response to this year’s contest theme, “What makes me…me” to encourage kids to provide “doodles” that show their talents, passions or what makes them unique; and WHEREAS, the artwork of the 53 finalists are put to public vote and the five national finalists and national winner will be announced on March Twenty-Eighth; and WHEREAS, Christina Wu‘s artwork features aspects of Asian culture that she is drawn to: food, architecture and traditions, and “especially a hot bowl of noodle soup.” NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby recognize Christina Wu and acknowledge her creativity, inspiration and joy through artistic expression and wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors. IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, March Fifteenth, Two Thousand and Sixteen. _______________________ Barry Chang, Mayor
