WHEREAS, the City of Cupertino wishes to recognize the 18th Annual ABC NorCal
Electrical Apprenticeship Program graduation ceremony on February Nineteenth, Two
Thousand and Sixteen; and
WHEREAS, ABC Northern California is a trade association dedicated to serving
construction professionals from Fresno to the Oregon border with the mission of promoting
free enterprise by advancing the merit shop philosophy in the construction industry
through education, advocacy and business services; and
WHEREAS, the ABC NorCal’s Electrical Apprenticeship Programs were developed to
increase the number of highly-skilled craftspeople in the construction industry; and
WHEREAS, the program involves 8,000 on the job training hours with electrical trade
professionals concurrent with classroom instruction for apprentices to learn theory, safety,
proper technique and trade-specific fundamentals; and
WHEREAS, apprentices earn competitive wages established by the state and health
benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance and an employee assistance
program; and
WHEREAS, after completion of the program, graduates receive a journey level card and
certificate of completion from the State of California and the US Department of Labor,
Office of Apprenticeship.
NOW, therefore be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino do hereby
commend and recognize the
ABC NorCal’s Electrical
Apprenticeship Program
and thank the organization for serving contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and associates
of all trades.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of
Cupertino to be affixed this Friday, February Nineteenth, Two-Thousand and Sixteen.
