Proclamation
WHEREAS, David Brandt has served as City Manager of the City of Cupertino
since September 15, 2012; and
WHEREAS,
before working for the City of Alameda for 10 years, as well as
serving as City Manager in Redmond, Oregon, immediately prior
to coming to Cupertino; and
WHEREAS,
strong financial position for years to come; directed substantial
investment in the City’s infrastructure, thereby benefitting the
everyday lives of residents and saving the City money in costly
repairs in the future; and created the City’s Innovation &
Technology Department, which has met the City’s growing
demand for technology solutions, effective project management,
and improved customer service; and
WHEREAS, David’s confident leadership, calm demeanor, and intellectual
poise was necessary in the completion of major developments
within the City, including the construction of the internationally
renowned Apple Park; the creation of Silicon Valley Clean Energy,
a community-choice energy agency; and the establishment of Main
Street, a commercial development that has partially filled the void
of a lack of a formal downtown; and
THEREFORE,
issue this proclamation to
David Brandt
in recognition of his more than five years of distinguished service as City Manager to the
City of Cupertino, with gratitude and appreciation for his hard work, dedication, and
leadership, while wishing him well in retirement and happiness in the next stage of his life.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of
Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, July Third, Two Thousand and Eighteen.
