Proclamation
WHEREAS, The City of Cupertino, in cooperation with the Santa Clara County
Fire Department, would like to recognize firefighter and engineer
Angela Graham for her Excellence Recipient of the Year award;
and
WHEREAS,
career in 2006, and has spent 10 years being a member of the
County’s Fire Special Operations Task Force stationed at Seven
Springs Fire Station in Cupertino; and
WHEREAS,
Agency Urban Search and Rescue California-Task Force 3, and has
been deployed to assist in the recovery efforts from Hurricane
Irma in Southwest Florida and the recent Camp Fire in Butte
County; and
WHEREAS,
a California Specialized Training Institute Instructor and was the
primary HazMat Instructor for the County Fire Recruit Academy;
and
WHEREAS,
dynamic follower, team member, and leader in response to the
operational need; and her dedication, commitment, and leadership
ability are inspirational, as she proudly serves the Fire Department
and the citizens of Cupertino.
THEREFORE,
hereby commend and award
Firefighter Angela Graham
For receiving the Excellence Recipient of the Year Award for her dedication shown in the
successful delivery of fire and life-safety services to the citizens of our community.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of
Cupertino to be affixed this Saturday, February Second, Two Thousand and Nineteenth.

PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the City of Cupertino in cooperation with the Cupertino Chamber of
Commerce the and the Rotary Club of Cupertino would like to recognize Santa Clara
County Fire Department Battalion Chief Tony Bowden for his Public Safety Officer of the
Year award; and
WHEREAS, Chief Bowden, an 18-year veteran of the fire service began his career in the
early 1990’s, working as an emergency responder with local ambulance providers and then
later serving as Firefighter/Engineer, Fire Captain, and Training Officer; and
WHEREAS, Chief Bowden now holds the rank of Battalion Chief, assigned to manage
emergency response activities throughout the Cupertino and Los Altos/Los Altos Hills
communities; and
WHEREAS, in addition to carrying out his regularly assigned duties, Chief Bowden has
been an active member of advisory and quality improvement committees, proving he is an
innovative thinker, committed to monitoring, testing, and improving systems, devices, and
training on behalf of the emergency services community; and
WHEREAS, Tony is also a business owner, husband, and father who enjoys coaching
youth softball and has served as a board member for local softball leagues; and
WHEREAS, working as roll model and mentor who leads by example, his efforts and
commitment to excellence on behalf of his peers and community exemplify the spirit of
public service.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Council of Cupertino, do hereby
commend and award
Battalion Chief Tony Bowden
The Public Safety Office of the Year award for his dedication shown in the vital successful
delivery of fire and life safety services to the citizens of our community.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of
Cupertino to be affixed this Wednesday, January Twenty-Ninth, Two Thousand and
Fourteen.

Proclamation
WHEREAS, The City of Cupertino, in cooperation with the Santa Clara County
Sheriff’s Department, would like to recognize Deputy Travis
Welch for his Excellence Recipient of the Year Award; and
WHEREAS,
in 2002 and has spent 10 years providing service to the City of
Cupertino, working as a Motorcycle Deputy, mitigating traffic
problems and enforcing Traffic Laws, and
WHEREAS,
years solving burglaries, financial crimes, and property crimes that
occurred within the City of Cupertino; and
WHEREAS,
a Certified Police Motorcycle Instructor, and will be training two
new Motorcycle Deputies this year; and
WHEREAS,
continues to serve as a dynamic follower, team member, and
leader in response to the operational need. His dedication,
commitment, and leadership ability are inspirational, as he
proudly serves the Sheriff’s Department and the Citizens of
Cupertino.
THEREFORE,
hereby commend
Deputy Travis Welch
