Proclamation
WHEREAS, Our community and communities across the Bay Area are
welcoming many new neighbors, friends, employees, and citizens
from countries and cultures throughout the world—people for
whom English is not their first native language; and
WHEREAS,
increased cognitive skills, better academic performance, and a
greater understanding of others, while also providing life-long
learning opportunities for people; and
WHEREAS, st
the study of long sequences of world languages beginning in the
early grades to enable students to develop the levels of proficiency
needed to effectively communicate with people from other
cultures whether at home or abroad; and
WHEREAS,
delivering better education to our students, of expanding the
cultural and literary horizons of adult learners, and of
strengthening America’s position and security around the world;
and
WHEREAS,
community and our province; and
THEREFORE,
hereby honor and thank those volunteers in the
Association of North California
Chinese School (ANCCS)
who share their time, energy, knowledge, and abilities. In so doing, I call upon all citizens
to help to renew and sustain the American spirit by committing themselves to address the
needs of their communities through connection and cooperation.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of
Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, December Seventeenth, Two Thousand and Nineteen.
