HomeMy WebLinkAbout047 National Public Works Week Proclamation Proclamation WHEREAS, Public works professionals focus on infrastructure, facilities, and services that are of vital importance to sustainable and resilient communities and to the public health, high quality of life, and well-being of the people of California and City of Cupertino; and WHEREAS, without the dedicated efforts of public works professionals, who are responsible for rebuilding, improving, and protecting our nation’s transportation, water supply, water treatment and solid waste systems, public buildings, and other structures and facilities essential for our citizens; and WHEREAS, influence the results that can be attained by the qualified and dedicated employees of the City of Cupertino Public Works Department. THEREFORE, I, Mayor Steven M. Scharf, and the Cupertino City Council do hereby acknowledge the week of May 17 to 23 as the 60th annual National Public Works Week in the City of Cupertino, and all citizens and civic organizations are encouraged to become familiar with public works services and recognize the contributions that City of Cupertino Public Works employees make every day to the health, safety, comfort, and quality of life in the City of Cupertino. IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, May Fifth, Two Thousand and Twenty. ____________________________ Steven M.
