HomeMy WebLinkAbout047 Arbor Day Proclamation - word - 04.18.2020 Proclamation WHEREAS, The City of Cupertino wishes to show its support for Arbor Day, which began in 1872, when J. Sterling Morton proposed to the Nebraska Board of Agriculture and WHEREAS, WHEREAS, our heating and cooling costs, moderate the temperature, clean the air, produce oxygen, and provide habitat for wildlife; and WHEREAS, vitality of business areas, and beautify our community; and WHEREAS, Wilson Park designed for community education; and WHEREAS, date and time to be set after the current mandatory Shelter-in-Place Order has been lifted. THEREFORE, hereby acknowledge April 18, 2020 as Arbor Day in the City of Cupertino and urge all residents, business, and organizations to engage in activities that support efforts to protect our trees and to plant trees, upon expiration of the current mandatory Shelter-in-Place Order related to COVID-19 from the Santa Clara County Public Health Department. IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Saturday, April Eighteenth, Two Thousand and Twenty. ____________________________ Steven M.
