Proclamation
WHEREAS, Public works professionals focus on infrastructure, facilities, and
services that are of vital importance to the community and to
public health, quality of life, and well-being of the people of
California and City of Cupertino;
WHEREAS,
without the dedicated efforts of public works professionals, who
are responsible for rebuilding, improving, and protecting our
nation’s transportation, water supply, water treatment and solid
waste systems, public buildings, and other structures and facilities
essential for our citizens;
WHEREAS, st
virtually this year, highlighting a different aspect of public works
services on the City’s social media platforms and website each day
throughout the week, with an emphasis on the importance of the
upkeep of our City by means of Cupertino 311;
WHEREAS,
all requests and concerns, and to provide residents with improved
access to report issues such as graffiti, potholes, tree requests,
street sweeping, and more;
WHEREAS,
influence the results that can be attained by the qualified and
dedicated employees of the City’s Public Works Department.
THEREFORE,
Proclaim the week of May 16 to 22 as the 61st annual
National Public Works Week
in the City of Cupertino, and all citizens and civic organizations are encouraged to become
familiar with public works services and to recognize the contributions that Public Works
employees make to the health, safety, comfort, and quality of life in the City of Cupertino.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of
Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, May Fourth, Two Thousand and Twenty One.
