Proclamation
WHEREAS, Our nation was founded on the belief that all citizens are
guaranteed the inalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of
happiness;
WHEREAS, Military services members have preserved the security and
freedom that allows us to flourish individually and as a nation;
WHEREAS, Our military personnel make personal sacrifices to preserve and
protect our freedom and country from all enemies, foreign and
domestic;
WHEREAS, Veterans are brave and selfless individuals who, when duty called,
willingly put themselves in harm's way to defend the lives and
liberty of others;
WHEREAS, Since 1996, the month of November has been recognized as
National Veterans and Military Families month in recognition of
the sacrifice veterans, active-duty personnel, and their families
have made;
THEREFORE, I, Mayor Darcy Paul, and the Cupertino City Council do hereby
Proclaim November 2022 as
National Veteran and
Military Families Month
in the City of Cupertino and encourage all community members to recognize the sacrifices
made by Veterans and Military Families in service of the United States.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of
Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, November 1, 2022.
