RESOLUTION NO. 398
OF THE ARCHITECTURAL AIM SITE APPROVAL COIITTEE
OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO recommending modification
of the Sign Ordinance to the Planning Commission with
the following changes:
Each business establishment shall, unless otherwise specified in
this Section 7, be allowed, at the discretion of the Architectural
and Site Approval Committee, a sign surface area up to a total of
three per cent (3%) of the gross floor area said establishment
occupies in a building or buildings, with no credit for parking
space inside or outside of buildings, and with the following
exceptions:
a. An establishment occupying more than one-story shall
not be allowed a total sign surface area that exceeds
three per cent (3%) of the gross floor area of any one
story, plus one and one-half per cent (1-1/2%) of the
gross floor area of another story, with no credit.for
additional stories or for enclosed parking space.
b. Sign area for service stations shall be based on total
lot area. Total sign surface area shall not exceed one
and one-half per cent (1-1/2%) of the lot area.
c. Dealers in new and used cars shall not be permitted a
sign surface area that exceeds one-half per cent (1/27.)
of the lot area, or sign area according to gross floor
area, whichever is greater.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 22nd dayof May, 1974, at a regular meeting of the
Architectural and Site Approval Committee of the City of Cupertino, State of
California, by the following roll call vote:
