The Director reports his decision to the City Council and Planning Commission in time to allow any Councilmember or Planning Commissioner to appeal the decision within fourteen calendar days. ApAlication Application 25-U-90 (Mod.). Plan to enclose a portion of an open bay of a building for use as an enclosed welding shop. The applicant is Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E). Description Attached site plan (Figure 2), shows the location of the substation maintenance building and its location to adjacent properties. Figure 3 shows that the enclosed welding shop will be located in the northwest corner of the building. At present, this is an enclosed storage area with steel frame walls along the west and south of the space. The modification will include additional walls to the north and east side. The west elevation (Figure 5) will be modified to include a 10' X 10' roll up door, which is located away from nearby residential properties. Another modification includes a metal door on the east elevation (Figure 6) of the welding shop. According to PG&E, the estimated noise levels of the electric welding equipment at the site is 40 to 50 dba.
