Cowan, Director of Community Development (LSC Date: July 24, 1996 Subj: Report of Director's Decision regazding a temporary use permit to allow a storage bin at 21877 Corte. Madera Lane. Chapter 19.128 of the Cupertino Municipal Code allows for administrative issuance of a temporary use permit. The Director reports his decision to the City Council and Planning Commission in time to allow any Councilmember or Planning Commissioner to appeal the decision within fourteen calendar days. Application: Issuance of a temporary use permit beginning July 26, 1996 to allow a storage bin to be located at 21877 Corte Madera Lane. The applicant will remove the bin from the site either when building renovations are completed, or when the use permit expires, whichever comes first. Description: The applicant, Howard and Lois Webber, are planning to remodel their residence and aze requesting that a storage bin be allowed on their property during the duration of the renovations. It is an ISO-type storage bin that measures 8'6" x 8'6" x 21' and would be used to store personal property white the main residence is being renovated. As shown in attached site plan, Exhibit A, the storage bin will be located in the front yard of the property and is located 12' from the curb. The applicants have stated that it should be removed from the property by December 31, 1996. Attached Exhibit B, is a petition that was signed by adjoining neighbors whose direct view and/or view passing by the property, would be compromised by the storage bin, supporting it. Attached with the petition was a letter from the applicants explaining their prupused actiuus ant a wpy of Exhibit A. The property owners listed in the petition have been verified by staff as being correct. C~ Action: Approved the temporary use permit for a storage bin located at 21877 Corte Madera Lane for a period of six months effective July 26, 1996 and expiring January 26, 1997 subject to the following conditions; l .) Approval granted based on site plan labeled Exhibit A and petition labeled Exhibit B. 2.) The worse case anticipated dates for this use will be from July 15th through December 31, 1996. The designer's 1 /10 scale drawing of the site is attached indicating where the storage container will be placed.
