Minor Modification of 9-ASA-95 to allow installation of a free standing clock.
Chapter 19.132 of the Cupertino Municipal Code allows for administrative approval of minor
changes to a project. The Director reports his decision to the City Council and Planning Com-
mission in time to allow any Councilmember or Planning Commissioner to appeal the decision
with fourteen calendar days.
Application:
Minor Modification of 9-ASA-95 to allow the installation of a free standing clock in the com-
mercial center commonly known as Cupertino Village on the northwest comer of Homestead and
Wolfe Roads.
Description:
In 1995, an architectural and site approval application was approved for exterior architectural,
landscaping and parking modifications to Cupertino Village. This work is nearing completion.
The applicant seeks approval for a free standing clock, located on the courtyard space in front of
building C (site plan). The clock was relocated from Fashion Island center is not operating and is
painted red.
Action:
The clock does add positive architectural interest and the Director of Community Development
approves the minor modification subject to the following conditions be completed within 30 days
of this approval.
1. The clock shall be operable.
2. The clock shall be painted dar~ br~to match the color of the lampposts in the center.
The fourteen calendar day appeal period will expire on December 17, 1997.
