of providing onsite security during the construction of two single family residences at
1361 and 1371 Aster Lane.

----------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter 19.132 of the Cupertino Municipal Code allows for administrative approval of
minor changes to a project. The Director reports his decision to the City Council and
Planning Commission in time to allow any Councilmember or Planning Commissioner to
appeal the decision within fourt~en calendar days.
Application:
Temporary Use Permit to allow the placement of a security trailer at a residential
construction site at 1361 and 1371 Aster Lane.
Description:
The applicant, Shannon Paboojian, is proposing a manned security trailer to be located in
the center of a construction site for two single family detached dwellings on Aster Lane.
The construction site will be fenced and posted with "No Tresspassing" signs, but
apparently this is not adequate to deter vandals as indicated in the attached letter (Exhibit
A). The trailer houses one person who is responsible for job site security, organizing
debris, maintaining fencing and activating job site lighting on a nightly basis. The trailer
is needed for six months.
Trailer sanitary waste is disposed of through a hose connected as needed to onsite
cleanouts. Water and electricity is provided to the trailer by the former property owner
who resides on the abutting parcel fronting on Stelling Road. Telephone service is
through a cellular phone.
Action:
The Director of Community Development deems the use minor and temporary and
approves the security trailer as proposed in Exhibits A, B and C.
This approval ofa temporary use permit is effective July 29, 1997. The fourteen calendar
day appeal period will expire on August 12, 1997.
