Chapter 19.132 of the Cupertino Municipal Code allows for administrative approval of n inor
changes to a project. The director reports his decision to the City Council and Plannil g
Commission in time to allow any Councilmember or Planning Commissioner to appeal the
decision within fourteen calendar days.
Application:
Modification of Use Permit 33-U-71, 18922 Forge Drive, Cupertino, California
Description:
The applicant Minert Architects representing ObI ix, Inc., is seeking to add more light into n
existing office building. The building is located on Forge Drive, which is a minor street w th
very little public views. I approved a similar modification to the west facing elevation bec use
there was neither public views nor private views into the site. I am using the "minor
modification" with referral to the City Council and Planning Commission for the south anc east
facing elevations because there is very limited exposure to residences located in the City 0 . Santa
Clara at the far southern extremity of the property. The landscaping in the planting strip bt tween
the parking lot and the homes consist of redwood trees and some under-story vegetation. I is
very difficult to see through the vegetation into the homes.
The application does not change the allowed use of the property, it only provides greater I i ~ht for
employees.
Action:
The Director of Community Development deems the modification minor and hereby appn ves
the application. The fourteen-day calendar appeal period will expire on Friday, July 2, 19 9
