the outdoor farmers' market from January 19,2001 to May 2001 and from end of October

Chapter 19.132 of the Cupertino Municipal Code allows for administrative approval of
minor changes to a project. The Director reports his decision to the City Council and
Planning Commission in time to allow any Councilmember or Planning Commissioner to
appeal the decision within fourteen calendar days.
Application: Minor Modification of 08-U-00 to extend the duration of the outdoor
farmers' market from May - October, to January 19,2001 to November 16,2001 at
10123 North Wolfe Road (northwest Vallco Fashion Park parking lot).
Description: The Vallco Certified Farmers' Market (VCFM) has exceeded the
applicant's expectations. Due to its success, VCFM, its parent, Pacific Coast Farmers'
Market Association and Vallco Fashion Park have requested a temporary extension of its
marketing season for the year 2001. Since its opening in May 2000, the market has been
operating without problems or complaints. The Director previously extended the market's
season from October to mid-November 2000, utilizing his authority to grant temporary
(up to 6 months) use permits. The applicant is withdrawing his request for live music at
this time. Such a request requires a use permit public hearing before the Planning
Commission as the market's use permit expressly prohibits amplified entertainment.
Action: The Director of Community Development deems the modification minor
and approves a one-time extension from January 19,2001 to May & from October to
November 16,2001. Live music is not approved with this permit. This approval is
effective November 14,2000. The 14-day calendar day appeal period will expire on
November 28,2000.
