Chapter 19.132 of the Cupertino Municipal Code allows for administrative approval of minor changes in a project. The Director reports his decision to the City Council and Planning Commission in time to allow any Councilmember or Planning Commissioner to appeal the decision within fourteen calendar days. Application Minor modification of 11-U-68, Robert Marchant, 10300 De Anza Boulevard Background The applicant proposes to replace the landscaping surrounding this existing office building. A small landscaping island is also proposed to be installed at the southeast comer of the landscaping area. The new landscaping includes the planting of three Magnolia ("tulip trees") at the north property line and eight Pyrus Kawakamii ("evergreen pear") on the south property line. A new lawn area is proposed in front. Four 5'x 10' concrete pads are proposed intermittently along the north property line. These are to serve as outdoor break locations for the office workers. The applicant hopes to locate some outdoor furniture in this area, which will be subject to staff review, including Fire Department review of their access needs. The small step stones shown on the north property line are not approved as part ofthis project since they are off the property. A condition states that this is the case. Action The Director approves the modifications to the landscaping plan subject to the following conditions: 1. The outdoor furniture on the north property line shall be subject to review and approval by staff and the Fire Department. 2. The step stones shown on the north property line are not approved as part of this application. 3. The irrigation system shall be in conformance with the Xeriscape Ordinance.
