Description: The Valleo Certified Fanners' Market (VCFM) has exceeded the applicant's expectations. Due to its success, VCFM, its parent, Pacific Coast Farmers' Market Association and Valleo Fashion Park have requested a temporary extension of its marketing season for the year 2002. Since its opening in May 2000, the market has been operating without problems or complaints. The Director previously extended the market's season from October to mid-November 2000, January to May 2001 and October to November 2001, utilizing his authority to grant temporary (up to 6 months) use permits. Staff asked the applicant to apply for a permanent use permit for the extended season, but the property owner was not inclined to grant permission to PCFMA. This may have to do with redevelopment activities proposed for the mall property. Action: The Director of Community Development deems the moditi.catioll minor and approves an extension from January 18,2002 to May & from October to November 22. 2002. Live music is not approved with this permit. This approval is effective January 16, 2002. The 14 calendar day appeal period will expire on February 2, 2002.
