Wolfe Road. Chapter 19.132 of the Cupertino Municipal Code allows for administrative approval of minor changes in a project. The Director reports his decision to the City Council and Planning Commission in time to allow an appeal of the decision within fourteen calendar days. DISCUSSION: Avis Rent A Car System, Inc., proposes to locate an approximately 250 square foot rental office in the existing Sears Automotive Center (VaIleo Fashion Center). The rental office will be staffed by two employees and will be open during the following hours: Monday - Friday 8 am to 6 pm Saturday - Sunday 9 am to 2 pm A total of 13 parking stalls will be allocated to Avis for rental vehicle and employee parking (11 rental cars plus 2 employee parking). One of the automobile service bays from Sears Automotive Center will be assigned to A vis for light vehicle cleaning and detailing. ACTION: The Director approves the application, file no. DIR-2004-16, with the following conditions: 1) The Director of Community Development deems the modification minor and approves the Avis rental center based on the attached plan set titled: " Avis @ Sears program 2004, Cupertino, CA 95014" consisting of five sheets dated July 7, 2004 unless as amended by the conditions of approval of this project. 2) This approval of the modification is effective September 14, 2004. The 14- calendar day appeal period will expire on September 28, 2004. 3) No onsite steam wash or car wash is allowed. Light cleaning is defined as window cleaning and light interior detailing. 4) No onsite major automobile maintenance or repair work is allowed. 5) No exterior signage is approved as part of this approvaL A separate sign permit shall be obtained for all exterior signage. 6) The 13 parking stalls can be marked for Avis Rental only but no freestanding signs like the ones shown on the plan set are allowed.
