Subj: File No. DIR-2005-3l: Minor Modification to allow the relocation of a garage,
single-story addition and dormers to an existing single-family residence and a secondary
dwelling unit relocation and addition (granny unit) in a planned development residential
zoning district, PeRes 4.4 -12) at 21796 Stevens Creek Boulevard.
Chapter 19.132 of the Cupertino Municipal Code allows for administrative approval of
minor changes to a project. The Director reports his decision to the City Council and
Platming Commission in time to allow any Councilmember or Platming Commissioner to
appeal the decision within fourteen calendar days.
Application:
File No. DIR-2005-3l: Minor Modification to allow the relocation of a garage, single-
story addition and dormers to an existing single-family residence and a secondary
dwelling unit (granny unit) in a planned development residential zoning district, PeRes
4.4 -12) at 21796 Stevens Creek Boulevard.
The applicant, Sasha Cukic, is proposing a relocation of the garage, a single-story
addition and dormers to an existing single-family residence, and a secondary dwelling
unit relocation and addition to a planned development single- family residential zoning
district in the Monta Vista area of Cupertino.
The proposal complies will all development standards relevant to R1 zoning district,
accessory structures ordinance and second dwelling unit ordinance. The second dwelling
unit (cottage) may be detached on a lot less than 10,000 square feet if it meets all
architectural review criteria, which it does. The architecture and building materials are
consistent with the main dwelling and grades are the same as the main dwelling. In
addition the cottage front lines up with the main dwelling on Stevens Creek Boulevard.
Action:
The Director of Community Development deems the modification minor and approves
the project as reference by the plan set titled: "Addition and Remodeling Sasha Cukic
Residence," undated and consisting of 5 sheets labeled A-I, A-2, A-6, A-7 & A-8.
This approval of the modification is effective November 23,2005. The fourteen
calendar day appeal period will expire on December 7,2005.
